Preliminary resolution pursuant to Section 384.42 of the Iowa Code covering the
L.A.Grant Parkway Widening Improvements Project
WHEREAS,it is deemed advisable that certain public improvements be constructed in
the City of Waukee,Iowa (the "City"),in accordance with the provisions of Chapter 384 of the
Code of Iowa,and a portion of the cost be assessed to the property benefited thereby;and
WHEREAS,the City has arranged for engineering services with Veenstra &Kirnrn,in
connection with the said improvement;
NOW,THEREFORE,It Is Resolved by the City Council of the City of Waukee,Iowa,as
follows:
Section 1.The L.A.Grant Parkway Widening Improvements Project shall consist of
widening the existing roadway 3.5 feet,adding curb and gutter,constructing approximately
1,617 linear feet of l2-inch to 18-inch storm sewer,2,138 linear feet of 4-foot wide sidewalk,
grading and miscellaneous associated work on L.A.Grant Parkway from the south right-of-way
of Booth Avenue to the south plat boundary of Replat of Park view Crossing Plat 2.
It is hereby determined that all properties shall be assessed which are within 300 feet of
the right-of-way of the portion of the L.A.Grant Parkway to be improved,or half the distance to
the next platted street,whichever is less.
Section 2.The Project Engineers are hereby ordered to prepare preliminary plans and
specifications,an estimated total cost of the work and a plat and schedule and to file the same
with the City Clerk and shall include in the estimated cost a default fund item of not to exceed
10%of the amount to be assessed against specially benefited property.
Section 3.The improvement shall be known as the "L.A.Grant Parkway Widening
Improvements Project,"and shall be so referred to in all subsequent proceedings.
Section 4.All resolutions,parts of resolutions,or actions of the Council in conflict
herewith are hereby repealed,to the extent of such conflict.
