RESOLUTION 02-126
APPROVING THE PROCLAMATION OF SUPPORT FROM
THE CITY OF WAUKEE FOR THE 100TH BIRTHDAY CELEBRATION OF
THE DALLAS COUNTY COURTHOUSE,SEPTEMBER 16-20,2002
IN THE NAME AND BY THE AUTHORITY OF THE CITY OF WAUKEE,IOWA
WHEREAS,in our age of new beginnings and fast starts it is healthy and regenerative to
review and celebrate the accomplishments of earlier generations of citizens,laborers,
supporters of development and civic responsibility and pride;AND,
WHEREAS,the Dallas County Courthouse,completed 100 years ago,exemplifies the
efforts and the spirit of an earlier generation that created a building not only dedicated to
serving the citizens of Dallas County and the State ofIowa but also a building beautiful
and awe inspiring to behold;AND,
WHEREAS,the Dallas County Courthouse,refurbished and renewed by the citizens of
today,is cherished and held in high esteem by the citizens of Waukee and of all Dallas
County;AND
WHEREAS,the Dallas County Courthouse ioo"Birthday Celebration is not only a
celebration ofthe accomplishments of the past but also a rededication to the goals and
ideals of an earlier generation that united purpose and art when constructing the Dallas
County Courthouse for past,current and future generations.
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED by the City of Waukee City Council in
session this 9th day of September 2002 that it hereby approves and supports the 100th
Birthday Celebration of the completion ofthe Dallas County Courthouse.
