RESOLUTION 02-127
APPROVING CERTIFICATE OF APPRECIATION FOR
FIRE DEPARTMENT CHIEF MARK SCHMITT
IN THE NAME AND BY THE AUTHORITY OF THE CITY OF WAUKEE,IOWA
WHEREAS,citizen volunteers are the life blood of any community AND,
WHEREAS,support and appreciation should always be extended to those who give of
their time,energy and talents for the betterment of the greater community;AND,
WHEREAS,Mark has served faithfully and with spirit as a member of the Waukee Fire
Department since 1992 and as Chief of the Fire Department from 1996 to 2002;AND,
WHEREAS,Mark has served as a model fire fighter for all associated with the Waukee
Fire Department by being certified in Hazmat Operations and as a Firefighter -l and an
EMT-I;AND,
WHEREAS,Mark was instrumental in securing funds for the Public Safety Building and
in the transition from an all volunteer fire department to a combination paid/on call fire
department.
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED by the City of Waukee City Council in
session this 9th day of September 2002 that it hereby approves a certificate of
appreciation for Mark Schmitt,Waukee Fire Department Chief from 1996 to 2002.
