RESOLUTION 02-186 ]
APPROVING FY03 CAPITAL IMPROVEMENTS PLAN
IN THE NAME AND BY THE AUTHORITY OF THE CITY OF WAUKEE,IOWA
WHEREAS,during the past three or four months the Council and Staffhave worked together to
prepare and prioritize a capital improvement plan for such nonrecurring expenditures as new
buildings,remodeling projects,street or utility construction,major street or utility reconstruction,
major equipment purchases,land acquisition,and development of new facilities;AND,
WHEREAS,the Mayor and Council of the City have participated in three strategic planning
sessions,which have resulted in the Capital Improvement Plan being presented for approval;
AND,
WHEREAS,this Capital Improvement Plan defines what will be built or bought and how it will
be financed;AND,
WHEREAS,this Capital Improvement Plan more specifically identifies the following as items
projected for FY03:
1)Alice's Road (105'h Street)Interchange Engineering
Commitment ($100,000)
2)Hickman Road Street Light Project installation of ground wires and pole bases
($300,000)
3)Walnut Ridge Sewer ($370,000)
4)Sewer Extension to 1-80 ($1,200,000)
5)University Avenue Design Work ($100,000)
6)Sixth Street Sidewalks ($40,000)
7)Sixth Street Watermain Replacement ($150,000)
8)Ashworth Drive Sidewalks Land Acquisition ($15,000)
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED by the City of Waukee City Council in session this
2nd day of December 2002 that it hereby approves the FY03 Capital Improvements Plan as
presented above with the exclusion ofItem 2 -Hickman Road Street Light Proj ect and Item 3 -
Sewer Extension to 1-80.~#u ~<~
