RESOLUTION 02-157
APPROVING AND ACCEPTING OFFER BY GERALD D.GRUBB,INC.FOR
CONSTRUCTION OF L.A.GRANT PARKWAY IMPROVEMENTS
IN THE NAME AND BY THE AUTHORITY OF THE CITY OF WAUKEE,IOWA
WHEREAS,in a letter dated October 7,2002,Ronald R.Grubb,Vice President,of Jerry's
Homes indicated that corporation,Gerald D.Grubb,Inc.is willing to install storm sewer,curb,
gutter and 3.5 feet of street paving per the engineering plans of Veenstra and Kimm,Inc.,from
the north edge of the north driveway of Sugar Creek Apartments to the south edge of Booth
Avenue;AND,
WHEREAS,in the same letter,it was stated that the expense for such construction will be the
sole responsibility of Gerald D.Grubb,Inc.with the exception of:
all engineering (plans,staking,inspections,etc.)and legal fees and
any other fees associated with the proj ect other than materials and
labor to construct the improvements
and,in addition,all typical maintenance bonds shall be provided by the contractors employed to
complete the project;AND,
WHEREAS,Mayor Mark Leslie and Councilmen Don Bailey,Jr.,Nick Gruber,Wayne
Johnson,Bill Peard and Mike Watts,as well as all city staff are very much appreciative of the
offer made by Gerald D.Grubb,Inc.to complete the above named improvements to L.A.Grant
Parkway;AND,
WHEREAS,the City of Waukee agrees to provide all engineering (plans,staking,inspections,
etc.)and legal fees and any other fees associated with the project other than materials and labor
to construct the improvements.
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED by the City of Waukee City Council in session this
215t day of October 2002 that it hereby approves and accepts the offer by Gerald D.Grubb,Inc.
for construction ofL.A.Grant Parkway Improvements.bhikf-~:-
