RESOLUTION 02-179
APPROVING AN AGREEMENT WITH SNYDER &ASSOCIATES FOR
ADDITIONAL SERVICE ON THE HICKMAN ROAD ARTERIAL STREET
LIGHTING PROJECT
IN THE NAME AND BY THE AUTHORITY OF THE CITY OF WAUKEE,IOWA
WHEREAS,the original agreement for engineering services was dated February 21,
2001;AND,
WHEREAS,Snyder and Associates were in the process of fulfilling its contractnral
obligations when,after the August 6,2001 meeting,the City requested additional work
with regard to the Hickman Road Aterial Street Lighting Project;AND,
WHEREAS,the City requested that Snyder &Associates revise the assessment
methodology,the preliminary assessment plans and schedules and the letting plans to
reflect a September 27,200 I proj ect letting and to include contract provisions for winter
work;AND,
WHEREAS,after the defeat of the revised plan at the September 10,2001 meeting,the
city requested that Snyder &Associates analyze the project for a logical separation into a
base bid and two add alternates;AND,
WHEREAS,as of October 28,2002,the City has requested that Snyder &Associates
develop a phased implementation ofthe lighting improvements on Hiclanan Road;AND,
WHEREAS,revisions to the plans and specifications,preliminary assessment plats and
schedules,attendance at additional work sessions and council meetings have been and
will be accomplished on an hourly basis consistent with City of Waukee direction and the
Engineering Services Agreement dated February 21,2001;AND,
WHEREAS,the additional fee associated with the services after the August 6,200 I
meeting and prior to the October 28,2002 meeting in the amount of $3,930.00 and the
estimated fee of $4,922.00 for services requested after October 28,2002 total $8,852,the
estimated for all services,completed and anticipated.
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED by the City of Waukee City Council in
session this 18th day of November 2002 that it hereby approves the agreement with
Snyder &Associates for additional service on the Hiclanan Road Arterial Street Lighting
Project.
