RESOLUTION 02-178 1
APPROVING 28E AGREEMENT WITH POLK COUNTY
FOR MUTUAL ASSISTANCE
IN THE NAME AND BY THEA UTHORITY OF THE CITY OF WAUKEE,IOWA
WHEREAS,Polk County is seeking a 28E Agreement for mutual aid assistance with
communities,counties and townships surrounding and within its borders;AND,
WHEREAS,situations may arise in regard to medical and fire/rescue emergencies or
circumstances which exhaust available personnel and equipment,and require additional
or specialty personnel and additional or special equipment that the responsible
jurisdiction may not have available at any given time;AND
WHEREAS,it is beneficial to all parties to the agreement to render needed emergency
medical and fire/rescue services upon a reciprocal basis AND,
WHEREAS,the governing bodies of each entity are desirous of entering into a 28E
Agreement,the purpose of which is to provide for the emergency medical services and
fire/rescue mutual assistance of one entity to the other in such emergency situations
requiring additional and/or special personnel and equipment.1
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED by the City of Waukee City Council in
session this ISth day of November 2002 that it hereby approves a 2SE Agreement for
Mutual Assistance with Polk County.
