THE CITY OF WAUKEE,IOWA
APPROVING THE AGREEMENT WITH WEST DES MOINES AND CLIVE FOR
SHARED USE OF WATER TOWER CAPACITY
IN THE NAME AND BY THE AUTHORITY OF THE CITY OF WAUKEE,IOWA
WHEREAS,this agreement is a coordination of the individual govemmental powers of West
Des Moines Water Works,Clive and Waukee to purchase and sell water and Water Tower and
Feeder Pipe capacity to the benefit of each city govemment's water customers;AND,
WHEREAS,the proportionate share of the cost and benefit of such coordination is divided as
follows:forty (40%)allocated to West Des Moines Water Works,forty (40%)percent allocated
to Clive and twenty (20%)allocated to Waukee;AND,
WHEREAS,joint participation with West Des Moines Water Works and City of Clive in this
venture will provide the City of Waukee with a low cost possibly long term solution to
improving the water supply and water pressure for those individuals and families living in the
eastem most part of the City of Waukee;AND,
WHEREAS,City Staff and City Attorney Paul Huscher have reviewed and have had input in the
Agreement for Shared Use of Water Tower Capacity and recommend the City Council approve
the agreement.
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED by the City of Waukee City Council in session this
l7'h day of November 2003 that it hereby approves the Shared Use of Water Tower Capacity
with West Des Moines W ater Works and the City of Clive.
