RESOLUTION 11-142
APPROVING THE ANNUAL COMPENSATION FOR ERIK SURBER WHO HAS
ACCEPTED THE POSITION OF LIBRARY DIRECTOR FOR THE CITY OF
WAUKEE
IN THE NAME AND BY THE AUTHORITY OF THE CITY OF WAUKEE,IOWA
WHEREAS,Erik Surber has accepted the Waukee Public Library Board of Trustees offer to
become the Library Director for the City of Waukee;AND,
WHEREAS,Erik Surber comes to the City of Waukee with valuable education and experience
in the mea of Library Services;AND,
WHEREAS,Erilc Surber will begin his employment with the City of Waukee on September 1st,
2011 with a base annual compensation of $78,500,AND,
WHEREAS,Erik Surber is to receive a one-time relocation payment of $5,000 to offset his
expenses of moving to Iowa,AND,
WHEREAS,Erik Surber will receive 10 days of vacation effective the first day of his
employment for the first year,10 days of vacation for his second and third year,15 days after
three years,and 20 days after seven years;all other benefits will be the same as stated in the
employee handbook and may be changed at my time at the sole discretion of the City Council,
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED by the City of Waukee City Council in session this
25th day of July 2011 that it hereby approves the base pay rate of $78,500 effective September 1,
2011,the $5,000 relocation payment,and the above referenced vacation benefit for Erik Surber
who has accepted the position of Library Director for the City of Waukee.
