MINUTES OF THE TUESDAY OCTOBER 10,2006 PLANNING AND ZONING COMMISSION
MEETmG.
Chairman Hoifeldt called the October 10,2006 meeting of the Planning and Zoning Commission to
order at 7:00 p.m.
Roll Call.Chairman Hoifeldt asked for a roll call and the following Commissioners were present:
Mook,Wilson,Dutcher,Steele,Schmidt (7:03),and Hoifeldt.Absent:Krantz.Others in attendance:
Brad Deets,Beth Richardson,Denuis Dowell,Council Member Bailey,and John Kursitis.
Agenda Approval.Motion by Commissioner Dutcher,seconded by Commissioner Wilson,to
"Approve the Agenda for October 10,2006."Ayes:Dutcher,Wilson,Steele,Mook,Schmidt,Wilson,
Hoifeldt.Nays:None.Motion carried.
Approval of September 26,2006 Meeting Minutes.Motion by Commissioner Dutcher,seconded by
Commissioner Wilson,to "Adopt the September 26,2006 Meeting Minutes."Ayes:Dutcher,Wilson,
Steele,Mook,Schmidt,Hoifeldt.Nays:None.Motion carried.
Open Forum.No one appeared to address the Commission during the Open Forum.
Approve the Preliminary Plat for The Crossing at Alice's Road.City Planner Brad Deets
explained that the development is proposed for the northwest comer of Alice's Road and Hickman
Road.The proposed development includes 17 lots and a combination of zoning including large scale
retail,office park commercial and townhome land uses.Motion by Commissioner Schmidt,seconded
by Commissioner Wilson to "Approve the Preliminary Plat for The Crossing at Alice's Road subject to
staffrecommendation,V &K comments and the Commission asks that the City Council look at and
determine ifthere is a need for a traffic study."Ayes:Schmidt,Wilson,Steele,Mook,Dutcher,and
Hoifeldt.Nays:None.Motion carried.
New Business.Council Representative Don Bailey informed the Commission that Dallas County met
recently regarding the Western By-Pass and that the MFO is requesting information from the City of
Waukee by the end of the month.
Adjournment.Motion by Commissioner Steele,second by Commissioner Schmidt,to adjourn at
8:00 p.m.Ayes:Steele,Sclnnidt,Mook,Wilson,Dutcher,and Hoifeldt.Nays:None.Motion
carried.Meeting adjourned.
