MEETlNG.
Chairman Hoife1dt called the November 14,2006 meeting of the Planning and Zoning Commission to
order at 7:00 p.m.
Roll Call.Chairman Hoifeldt asked for a roll call and the following Commissioners were present:
Hoifeldt,Schmidt,Mook,Dutcher,Steele.Absent:Krantz and Wilson.Others in attendance:Beth
Richardson,Brad Deets,Dennis Dowell,John Kursitis,and Council Member Bailey.
Agenda Approval.Motion by Commissioner Schmidt,seconded by Commissioner Steele,to "Approve
the Agenda for November 14,2006."Ayes:Schmidt,Steele,Hoifeldt,Mook,Dutcher.Nays:None.
Motion carried.
Approval of October 24,2006 Regular Meeting Minutes.Motion by Commissioner Schmidt,
seconded by Commissioner Steele,to "Adopt the October 24,2006 Regular Meeting Minutes."Ayes:
Schmidt,Steele,Hoifeldt,Mook,Dutcher.Nays:None.Motion carried.
Open Forum.No one appeared to address the Commission during the Open Forum.
Motion to Approve the Site Plan for Sherwin Williams.The site plan is for a 4,500 square foot
Sherwin Williams Paint Store on Lot 1 of the proposed Vista Commercial Plat 1.The applicant revised
the building elevations based upon the P &Z's comments at the October 24,2006 meeting.Motion by
Commissioner Schmidt,seconded by Commissioner Dutcher to "Approve the Site Plan for Sherwin
Williams subject to the completion of all remaining staff comments."Ayes:Schmidt,Dutcher,Hoifeldt,
Mook,Steele.Nays:None.Motion carried.
Motion to Approve an Ordinance to Amend Section 301.26,Parking Regulations.Director of
Planning,Brad Deets,went through the proposed ordinance and briefly explained the changes and
additions from the current ordinance.Motion by Commissioner Schmidt,seconded by Commissioner
Steele to "Approve an Ordinance to Amend Section 301.26,Parking Regulations."Ayes:Schmidt,
Steele,Hoifeldt,Mook,Dutcher.Nays:None.Motion carried.
New Business.Director of Planning,Brad Deets,expressed his appreciation to Commissioners Hoifeldt,
Schmidt and Mook for volunteering to help with the Comp Plan process.The first meeting will be on
Thursday November 16,2006 at 6:00 PM.Commissioner Hoife1dt asked if Sonic had done the traffic
analysis that was requested.M:r.Deets explained that staff is waiting for the elevations,once everything
is turned in,staff will do a full review which will include the traffic analysis.Council Member Bailey .
requested that staff notify the residence surrounding the Walnut Cove subdivision when this subdivision
is scheduled for Council approval.
Adjournment.Motion by Connnissioner Schmidt,second by Commissioner Mook,to adjourn at
8:00 p.m.Ayes:Schmidt,Mook,Hoifeldt,Dutcher,Steele.Nays:None.Motion carried.Meeting
adjourned.
