Thomas Davis visiced W~Ln cue Commission about building a home in the trailer park to be used for office and ltving quarters.After studying the latest City Zoning Ordinance change,it was determined that the pro- posed buildings would be in the C-l area.~1ark Gruber,City Zoning Admin- istrator,reported he had talked to Huscher about the matter and Huscher said it could not be built unless the City Council proposed a zoning change. The C-l area in the trailer nark area states that there will be 542 feet from the center if Highway 6"or Hickman Road to the south.Referred Mr. Davis to the City Council. Joe Stork talked with us about growth and planning for the latest annexed area.Vice-Chairman Weeks said he would contact someone connected with Urban "P'Lanrrl.ngand 1iiTaukeePlanning.&Zoning Commission members would dis- cuss ideas at our next regular meeting. Election of officers for 1988 was onened for nominations by Weeks. Casey nominated Weeks for Chairman,second by Johnson.Foster made motion that nomination cease,second by Casey,Hotion carried. Casey nominated Foster for Vice-Chairman,second by Borchers.Foster nominated Casey for Vice-Chairman,second by Borchers.Borchers made motion that nominations cease,second by Heskett.Hotion carried. Voted by raising of hands for Foster--three votes.Vote by raising of hand for Casev--three votes.Bill 1iiTeeksvoted for Foster to break the tie.Foster appointed Vice-Chairman .. Casey nominated Mertes for Secretary,second bv Heskett.Johnson made motion that nominations cease,second by Borch~rs.11otion carried. Terms of members was discussed: Casey Lerm to expire November,1988 Mertes term to expire September,1989 Weeks term to expire November,1989 Heskett term to expire July,1989 Borchers term to expire February,1990 Johnson term to expire Hay,1990 Foster term to expire January,1993 Special areas were assigned to members of Planning &Zoning as follows: Preliminary plats and preliminary anplications--Arnie Borchers Site Plan--Hark Casey and Jerry Johnson Final Plats--Hark Casey Subdivision Regulations--Randy Foster District Conformity Use--Joan Heskett Signs and Utilities,parking and set-backs--Ruby Hertes January 19,1988---cont 180 Next regular meeting is scheduled for February 16.No phone calls will be made rrnless there is a special meeting,called. Respectfully submitted, Ruby Me ,Secretary February 16,1988 The Waukee Planning and Zoning Commission regular meeting was brought to order by Chairraan 1;veeksat 7:35 p.m.on February 16,1988. A roll call of members present:Jerry Johnson,Ruby Hertes,Joan Heskett,Randy Foster,Bill Heeks,Hark Casey and Arnie Borchers. Guests:Roger Buffington,Frank Hoifeldt,Brian Redshaw,Steve Venard, Greg Griffith and Arden Stokstad. Ho t Lon was made by Fos ter and seconded by Casey to approve the minutes 'JI of December 28 and January 19.Motion carried. Steve Venard presented a preliminary plat for Hidden Valley Estates which is within thetwb mile limit of the City of Waukee.The property consists of 135 acres and 30 lots.The project will be a private association with their own central water and septic system.Roger Buffington,City Engineer,presented comments that would concern the City of Waukee if the development should ever become a part of the City.Discussion was held on the points presented and recommenda- tions for changes were made for an easement at the Doint of access to the subdivision and an additional cul-de-sac between lots 23 and 24.The developers will meet with us again on Harch 1,1988. Steve Venard presented drawings for a lake which Steve Grubb pro- poses to be built on his property.The Commission felt that Grubb should visit with them about the rest of the development before app- roval. Discussion was held on proposed zoning of the newly annexed property. It is the Commission's feeling .tha t.a committee should be set·up to 'study the possibilities. Next meeting will be Harch 1,1988 at 7:30 D.m. Motion made by Borchers and seconded by Johnson to adj ourn.~1otion carried.
