HomeMy WebLinkAbout1991-06-03-Planning and Zoning Commission Minutes221' June 3,1991 The Waukee Planning &Zoning Commission met Monday June 3,1991 at City Hall the meeting was called to order at 7:34 P.M.by Chairman Mark Casey.Dianna Van Zee was present and taking minutes. The following members were present:Korpanty,Applegate,Casey, Royer.Absent:Steele,Foster Guest:John Kursitis,Jerry Oliver,Mark Gruber,Steve Pierce Applegate motioned to approve the minutes,second by Royer. Carried 5 to 0. Mark Gruber discussed purchasing the property next to the post office to put in a woodshop.It is Zones C-2 and needs to be changed to include woodshop. Applegate motioned to recommend to the Council that they amend ordinance C-l to include woodshop,and that Mark needs to get signatures from surrounding owners within 200 feet of building. Seconded by Christianson.Motion carried 5 to 0. Mark Gruber presented the Lutheran building project.Applegate motioned ,Korpanty seconded that the plans must meet the site plan ordinance with no fee cost.Motion carried 5 to 0.Steve Pierce has the plans and is reviewing them to make sure they are meeting the Site Plan Ordinance. Jerry Oliver of Civil Engineering representing Iowa Realty discussed the land west of Southfork.He was there to discuss the Dry Sewer Ordinance #2138.He would like the Commission to waive the Ordinance so they could install septics like they have at Southfork.The Commission discussed problems that would be placed on the City in 20 years if they allowed this type of septic if the DNR would shut them down.The Commission recommends that we stick with the Ordinance of Dry Sewers. Motioned by Royer,second by Applegate the we recommend to the Council that they waive the Dry Sewer Ordinance.Motion defeatedo-6.(Steele arrived at 8:22) Don Lee Bailey,Jr and Mayor Rosenkranz arrived at 8:30 P.M. John Kursitis gave the P&Z an update of the Comprehensive Plan and how it is progressing.He wanted the Commission to look over a survey to be sent to the business owners.Applegate motioned, Korpanty seconded to give their approval of the survey.Motion carried 6 to 0. 1 June 3,1991 Minutes Continued Motion by Applegate,second by Royer to except Phase I of the Comprehensive Plan.Motion carried 6 to 0. Royer motioned,Christianson seconded to adjourn the meeting at 9,25 P.M. The following members were present:Applegate,Christianson, Foster,Casey,Steele,Royer (arrived at 7:40 P.M.) Absent:Korpanty Guests:Jerry Oliver,Rick Ross,Bob Christianson,Mark Gruber, Brian Redshaw,Bob Barrett--City Counci.l Representative,Steve Pierce-City Engineer. Jerry Oliver discussed Windfield.Windfield is zoned R-2,it consists of 65 Acres,that 3.3 acres has been set aside for Park land dedication,the lot were approximately 65ft wide.That sanitary sewer has not been run to all of the land yet.Phase I is adjacent to Mary Ann Estates and will be developed first.On Windfield Parkway they would like no parking so it could be 25ft wide and the rest of the development would have parking on one side only.They do not want to fence along the railroad.If a 12in water main is ran along Warrior Lane they do not feel that they should have to pay for the full cost of the main.They would like a Boulevard entrance with an agreement to be worked
