The Waukee Planning and Zoning Commission met at the Town Hall.
Present:Doug Brickert,Janet MUllen,Ruby Mertes,Ruby Waugh
LeRoy Wolfe,and Joe Neubauer
I,Absent:Jake Keller
Guests:Vincent Meyer,Al Perin of Knapp Realty,Mr,Barney Bishop
and James Berner of Bishop Engr.
Mr.Bishop of Bishop Engr.explained to the Commi sai.on the type of
Trailer Park that Mr.Knapp was planning on constructing in Waukee
if everything is ecceptable.This was to be located on the East side
of East street and across the road ~om the plat of land bought ree
cently by the school and ~own o£Waukee for the future school and
park site.He explained this was to be a deluxe trailer and different
in many ways from the usual trailer park.He also was interested in
knowing if this tract of land would be annexed by Waukee.The con-
struction would start in 1970 and no less than 10 acres or more than
15 acres would be developed each year thereafter.
A motion was made by Wolfe and seconded by Mertes that the town of
Waukee annex the portiom o£land lying just East of East St.and North
of Ashworth which was the Harvey Burger property and also the section
of land which was recently purchased for the future school site and
city park.Motion passed unanimously.
The new officers of the Planning and Zoning Commission for this com-
ing year were elected.A motion was made and seconded that Ruby Mertes
be our Ohairman.Motion passed unanimously.A motion was made and se-
conded that LeRoy Wolfe be our Vice-Chairman.Motion passed unanimously.
Janet Mullen will serve as secretary again this coming year.The mem-
bers of the Planning Commission are as follows:

The matter of having the secretary send copies of the minutes to the
members of the Oomnuaai.on was discussed.It was decided this would be
a very good idea especially in cases of absences.As long as the se-
cEetary is making copies she will also make enough for the council.
It was"suggested by our Mayor that in order to have better communication
between the council and"Planning Commission that a member of the Cornm,
sit in on the council meetings.The council will do the same.It was
decided this was a good idea.Following is a note by the Chai~man:
The members are listed below in the order they shall attend all
regular and specially called meetings of the Council starting July15,196
Ruby Mertes,LeRoy Wolfe,Ruby Waugh,Janet Mullen,Jake Keller,Doug.
Brickert,Joe Neubauer.Notes shall be taken by the members attending
and shall be reported at the next meeting.If the member scheduled to
attend cannot appesr,he shall be responsible for getting a replacement.
The last matter of discussion was objectionable cars on private pro-
perty.Three residences were named as possibly having objectionable cars
or operating an objectionable business on the side.They were:Irvin C.

The secretary is presenting to the Clerk her expenses for the past year.
This covers stamps,stationery,and Tele.calls.It was $3.3~.
