HomeMy WebLinkAbout1984-04-24-Planning and Zoning Commission MinutesApril 2,1984 The regular meeting of the Planning &Zoning Commission was called to order at 7:35 p.m.A roll call was taken and the following members were present:Keller,Felt,Hoifeldt,and Gutshall.Absent:Rinard, Rosenkranz,and Demand.Guest:Walt Hinkson. The minutes of the March 19,1984 meeting were read.Moved by Hoifeldt, second by Felt,to approve the minutes as read.Passed unanimously. A discussion took place concerning R-3 zoning to be located in the City. No decision was made at this time. Walt Hinkson suggested that the Commission make a recommendation to the Council concerning designating certain streets in the City for truck traffic during construction of two developments (Waukee Estates and Mary Ann Estates). Moved by Gutshall,second by Felt,to recommend to the City Council that they designate from 6th Street south to the south end of Evergreen Manor and then east to Plat 1 of "Waukee Estates"as the truck route for this development and Cherry Street west from 6th Street to the entrance to "Mary Ann Estates"as the truck route for this development. Passed unanimously . .Moved by Felt,second by Hoifeldt,to adjourn.Passed unanimously. Meeting adjourned. Next meeting will be May 7,1984 at 7:30 p.m. April 24,1984 A special meeting of the'Planning &Zoning Commission was called to order at 7:30 p.m.by Chairman Tom Demand.Members present were: Lee Felt,Tom Demand,Floyd Rosenkranz,Frank Hoifeldt,Pat Gutshall, Ray Rinard and Nicole Keller. The minutes of the April 2 meeting were not read. Guests at this meeting were:Roger Buffington,Jack Inman and 2 associates of Inman Realty. Jack Inman and associates had presented the preliminary plat of Mary Ann Estates for approval of the P &Z.Approval was not given upon recommendation of Tom Demand until Roger Buffington and Brian Redshaw examined the plat.Questions were asked of Inman and associates concerning Mary Ann Estates plat. A suggestion was made that the City Council should have a Site Planning Ordinance. -132 April 24---cont Moved by Demand and seconded by Rosenkranz to adjourn.Carried 7 to O. The next P &Z meeting was called for May 1,1984 at 7:30 p.m. On the agenda will be considering approval of preliminary plat of Mary Ann Estates and approval of April 2 minutes. Respectfully submitted, Ray Rinard,secretary ~J) Chairman May 1,1984 A spec±al meeting of the Waukee Planning &Zoning Commission was called to order on May 1,1984 by Chairman Tom Demand at 7:30 p.m. The following members were present:Tom Demand,Nicole Keller, Pat Gutshall,Floyd Rosenkranz,Lee Felt,Frank Hoifeldt,and Ray Rinard. Guests present at this meeting were: Jim Berner and Steve Venard of Bishop Buffington of Snyder and Associates. Jack Inman of Inman Realty, Engineering,and Roger A letter of Associates. Ann Estates review was submitted by Roger Buffington of Snyder & An'examination of preliminary Plats 1 and 2 of Mary was made and a discussion held by the P &Z. II Moved by Hoifeldt,second by Keller,that preliminary Plat 1 of Mary Ann Estates be approved.Motion carried. Moved by Felt,second by Rosenkranz,that preliminary Plat 2 of Mary Ann Estates be approved.Motion carried. Chairman Demand made mention that no R-3 zoning existed at this time.No action was taken. A Site Plat Ordinance for the future was suggested. Moved by Keller,second by Gutshall,to adjourn at 8:30 p.m. Motion carried.
