The regular meeting of the Waukee Planning &Zoning Commission was
called to order at 7:30 p.m.on April 29,1985.
Members 'Hoifeldt,Weeks,Rosenkranz,Demand and Mertes were present.
Absent:Gutshall.
Guestg introduced were;Bert Else,Roy Bullis,Bob Christianson,Wayne
McKinney,and Lou Hackenberg.Tom McClure,Zoning Administrator and
Brian Redshaw were also attending.
Motion made by Demand,seconded by Rosenkranz,to approve April 3,1985
minutes as written.Motion approved.
Mr.Else and Mr.Bullis explained plans for a new Baptist Church building
at the corner of Highway 6 and 4th Street.Tom McClure advised them to
check with the City attorney about front entrance on the south side of
the building.Checks also need to be made for use of gravel for drive-
way and for easement on property.
Tom Demand left the meeting at 8:00 p.m.
Wayne McKinney,representing Bob Christianson,asked the Commission if
there would be any problems for Christianson to convert the apartments
on 5th,south of Laurel,to condos or town houses.
Moved by Rosenkranz,seconded by Weeks,that property be spot zoned to
R-3 or R-4 and recommended take it to the City Council for the May 14
meeting.A roll call vote was as follows:

Motion carried 3 to 1
Planning &Zoning still needs another member.
Moved by Weeks,second by Rosenkranz,to adjourn.Carried unanimously.
Meeting adjourned.
The next scheduled meeting will be Tuesday,May 28,1985 due to the
