The regular meeting of the \~aukee Planning f,Zoning Commission "JaS
called to order by Chairman Floyd Rosenkranz at 7:30 p.m.
Hembers present:Casey,Rosenkranz,Gutshall &Weeks.Mertes &
Foster came later.Absent:Demand.'I
Hoved by Casey,second by Weeks,to approve the minutes of April
15,1986.Motion carried.
Guests:Roger Buffington,Brian Redshaw,Jim Berner,Jim &Bob
HcKinney,Norman Hammen,Pat Hammen,Clint Humbert,Dave Schmidt,
Hr &Hrs Fred Deaver,David Honken and Frank Hoifeldt.
James HcKinney of HcKinney &McKinney Law Firm,representing Norman
Hammen,presented a proposal to P &Z to request rezoning of Lot
6,Block 1,known at 50S-4th St from R-2 to C-2 for a fast food
restaurant.Neighbors to said property,Clint Humbert arid Dave
Schmidt,gave objections to the proposed fast food restaurant.After
much discussion,Waukee P &Z members decided it should be presented
to the City Council for their approval before the rezoning be con-
sidered.
The proposed Park Ordinance for Public Sites &Open Spaces was dis-
cussed.Foster made a suggestion that a comprehensive plan for a
park ordinance needs to be established between P &Z and City Council
before further action is takeri.
Fred Deaver presented his proposal for a convenience store called
"Pronto"to be built at the northeast corner of Laurel and !+th St.
The site plan will be revieVled by city engineer,Roger Buffington.
Site plan to be sent to P &Z for consideration.

Frank Hoifeldt discussed Vlith P &Z members the restrictions for
radio towers and dishes erected in the City of Haukee.City engineer
Buffington felt that zoning ordinance 301.3 under "Structure"needs
to have tOVlers and dishes added to this paragraph as incidental use.
The next regular meeting of P &Z Vlill be held June 17,1986.
Moved by Casey,second by Foster,to adjourn.Motion carried.
