HomeMy WebLinkAbout1982-06-01-Planning and Zoning Commission Minutes114 Nay 18,1982 A special meeting of the Planning &Zoning Commission was called to order at 7:03 p.m.on Nay 18,1982 by acting chairman,Frank Hoifeldt. The following members were present:Norma Franks,Nicole Keller, Bruce Buxton and Lee Felt.Absent was Pat Gutshall.Representatives of the County Line Pilot were present. The rezoning of properties to R-3 was discussed because the City currently has no R-3 property that can be developed.No motions were offered. I The recommendation to allow step down zoning from R-3 to R-2 was discussed.No motion was made. A nomination was made by Nicole Keller for Frank Hoifeldt to be chairman.There was a second by Lee Felt.Passed 5 to O. It was moved by Lee Felt and seconded by Bruce Buxton to adjourn. Notion carried 5 to O.The meeting was adjourned at 8:14 p.m.The next meeting will be June 1,1982 at 7:30p.m. Respectfully submitted, Nicole Keller,secretary chairman .1 I June 1,1932 The June meeting of the Planning &Zoning Commission was called to order by Chairman Frank Hoifeldt on June 1,1982 at 7:30 p.m.Members present were Nicole Keller,Pat Gutshall.Lee Felt arrived about 8:00. Guests present were:Nike &Diane Aldrich,Bob Christianson,Neal Kirsten,George Kramer,and Nike Johnson. The rezoning of the section north of the railroad tracks between 4th&6th Street to Hwy.6 was discussed.Also the land between 4th & 6th Streets south of South School Street to Waukee Aven.was discussed. Four residents of South School Street objected to their properties being adjacent to the high traffic on 4th St.and tall buildings adjacent to their property.Frank Hoifeldt suggested that the pronerty adjacent to South School Street to Waukee Ave.be zoned R-2 and that the land we.st;from Evergreen Manor's east border to 6th St.be zoned R-3.All agreed this was acceptable. A motion was made to recommend rezoning of nroperty north of the rail- road tracks to lhvy.6 between 6th &4th Sts~,to recommend rezoning of property south of School St that is R-3 to R-2,to recom~end rezoning of property west of the west boundary of Evergreen Nanor to 6th St I south to Waukee Ave __.to R-3 and to recommend step down zoning from J R-3 to R-2 by Nicole Keller.Motion seconded by Lee Felt.Vote 4 to O. Keller agreed to present recommendations to council.at their next meeting June 13,1982. 1J5 June 1,1982--cont Motion to adjourn by Keller,seconded by Hoifeldt.Carried 4 to O. Meeting adjourned at 9:30 p.m.The next meeting will be July 6th at 7:30 p.m, Respectfully submitted, N~~~l~v~'lo~con~a~~r~rUL~VL~~~LL~LJ U __L_~~-J July 6,1982 The July meeting of the Planning &Zoning Commission was called to order at 7:30 p.m.on July 6,1982.All members were present and no guests were present.The minutes were read.A motion was made by Frank Hoifeldt to delete in the 3rd paragraph "Frank Hoifeldt suggested that the property adjacent to South School Street to Waukee Wavenuebe zoned R-2 and that the land west from Evergreen Manor's east border to 6th St be zoned R-3" and replace it with "Frank Hoifeldt suggested that the property adjacent to South School St.to Northview be zoned R~2 and that the land south to Waukee Ave.from Evergreen Hanor's east border to 6th St.be zoned R-3",and to approve the minutes as amended.The motion was seconded by Pat Gutshall.The motion was passed 5 toO. The rezoning of lands approved at previous meetings was discussed.It was decided to change the northern area by eliminating the Co-op property, bordered by Haple,the railroad tracks and 5th Street. Lee Felt motioned and Bruce Buxton seconded to adjourn.The vote was unanimous. The next meeting will be August 3 at 7:30 p.m. Respectfully submitted, Nicole Keller,secretary
