June 25,1984
The Waukee Planning &Zoning Commission held a June and July comb-
ination meeting on June 25,1984.The meeting was called to order
by Chairman Tom Demand at 7:30 p.m.
Members present were:Tom Demand,Frank Hoifeldt,Nicole Keller,
Ruby Mertes,and Ray Rinard.Absent:Pat Gutshall and Floyd
Rosenkranz.
Guests at this meeting were:Walt Hinkson,liason from the City
Council and Brian Redshaw,City Administrator.
TheP &Z Commission had met for a regular meeting on June 4 but
was'dismissed as there was not enough members present for a quorum.
Moved by Demand,second by Keller to approve the minutes of April 2.
Carried 5 to O.
Moved by Demand,second by Keller,to approve the minutes of April 24.
Carried 5 to 0.
Moved by Demand,second by Keller,to approve the minutes of May 1.
Carried 5 to O.
A site plan establishment was initiated by Demand and a discussion
followed about how P &Z could go about helping to set this up.Mr.
Hinkson said he thought the City Council would be happy to see a site
plan recommendation.Tom Demand suggested that members of the P &Z
digest the site plan outline and this item would be taken up at the
next meeting set for September 10,1984.
No meeting was set for August.
Walt Hinkson mentioned that a truck route was set up for the Henry
Krohn development and that some rock was being placed east of 6th
Street in front of 4 houses.
A discussion was held concerning the mobile homes located in Waukee,
outside of established mobile home park.It was P &Z's:understanding
that a certain square footage is required and manufactured homes
must be on a foundation.Mention was made that in a law passed on
July 1,1984,factory manufactured homes cannot be discriminated
against.A suggestion was made the the City Attorney should review
the mobile home requirements.
Moved by Demand,second by Keller,to adjourn at 8:20 p.m.Carried
5 to O.
The next regular meeting of the Planning &Zoning Commission was
set for Monday,September 10,1984.
