January 21,1986 The regular meeting of the Waukee Planning &Zoning Commission was called to order by vice-chairman Randy Foster. Members present were:Foster,Gutshall,Weeks,Casey,Mertes Absent':':Rosenkranz and Demand. Guests present were:Randy Krohn,Gary Sindelar,Frank Hoifeldt, and Br Lan Redshaw. Gary Sindelar from Kirkham,Michael &Associates presented a new plat for study by P &Z.This plat is a pre-application for Waukee Estates to extend Northview to 6th Street and make 21 lots.P &Z members were unable to make any final decision due to size of the lots. A special meeting was set for February 4 at 7:30 p.m.to meet with Krohn and the engineering firm again. Discussion was held about the traffic problem at Ashworth Road and University. Randy Foster announced that he would be meeting with the Iowa Herit- age Foundation on Thursday,January 23,regarding railway right-of ways for use as a bike path and nature trail. Motion made by Weeks to adjourn at 8:15 p.m.,second by Casey. 1'48 January 14,1986--cont Motion carried. Members present were:Rosenkranz,Casey,Foster,Weeks &Mertes. Absent:Gutshall and Demand. Guests:Bob McKinney of McKinney &McKinney Law Firm,Randy Krohn, Henry Krohn,Gary Sindelar,Frank Hoifeldt,Roger Buffington,and Brian Redshaw. Moved by Weeks,second by Casey,that minutes from December 17,1985 and January 21,1986 be approved as submitted.Carried unanimously. Bob and ,~ayne McKinney appeared before the Commission regarding the building of an office building for the law firm of McKinney and McKinney at the corner of 6th &Locust.No site plans were presented to the Commission as required bv Waukee Municipal Code 304,therefore it was the consensus of this body that site plans must be submitted for approval per the requirement.Planning & Zonillngmembers also conceded that there was an apparant lack of communication with the Zoning Administrator regarding the Site Plan Ordinance 304. II J Gary Sindelar of Kirkham,Michael &Associated presented prelim- inary plats 1 and 2 of the Krohn development.The development, previously known as Waukee Estates,will now be called "Northview Estates".Roger Buffington,City Engineer,presented his comments in written form concerning corrections to be made to the plat for conformance with City of Haukee subdivision regulations.Engineer Buffington also requested that plat 1 of Haukee Estates previously ap proved by abandoned or platted over. Moved by Foster,second by Weeks,to approve preliminary plat 1, Northview Estates,upon completion of requirements set by City Engineer.Carried unanimously. Foster discussed his involvement regarding the nature trail and bike path in Dallas County.j Moved by Foster,second by Casey,to adjourn.Carried unanimously.
