September 10,1984
The regular meeting of the Planning &Zoning Commission was called
to order at 7:35 p.m.
A roll call was taken and the following
Hoifeldt,Demand,and Mertes.Absent:
kranz.Guests:Walt Hinkson.
members were present:Keller,
Rinard,Gutshall,and Rosen-

Tom Demand stated that Ray Rinard had submitted his resignation
to the P &Z.
Moved by Keller,second by Mertes,to accept Ray Rinard's resignation.
Carried unanimously.Brian will advertise in the City newsletter
about the vacancy.
Since Ray Rinard's resignation left a void in the position of secretary,
it was moved by Keller,second by Mertes,to elect Frank Hoifeldt
as secretary until election take place January 1,1985.Carried
unanimously.
The Commission discussed the feasibility of creating a site plan
ordinance for the City.After much discussion,it was recommended
that Tom Demand contact Roger Buffington,City Engineer,for copies
of other communities of our size for input.
Tom Demand said that P &Z should be planning for the future
because of the growth to the west from Des Moines.
Moved by Keller,second by Mertes,to adjourn.Carried unanimously.

The regular meeting of the Planning &Zoning Commission was called
to order at 7:42 p.m.
A roll call was taken and the following members were present;Rosen-
kranz,Gutshall,Demand,and Hoifeldt.Absent:Keller and Mertes.
Moved by Rosenkranz,second by Hoifeldt,to approve the minutes of
June 25 and September 10.Passed unanimously.
A discussion took place concerning a site plan ordinance.After
discussing several sample site plans,it was felt that we should table
further discussion until the next meeting to get the input of the
other members.
Moved by Rosenkranz,second by Gutshall,to adjourn.Carried
unanimously.
