Home My WebLink About1996-01-23-Planning and Zoning Commission Minutes301 January 23,1996 The Waukee Planning &Zoning Commission was called to order by Chairman Lloyd Royer at 7:01pm. Roll was taken and the following members were present:Steele,Hoifeldt,Royer,Heskett and Applegate.Absent:Korpanty,Blazanin. Respectfully Submitted Dianna VanZee Guests:Mayor Bailey,Jeff Downing,Robyn S.Heath,Co-Rep. Dianna was present and taking minutes. Agenda Addition:Discussion took place regarding the lot next to Tom Wilson on Walnut Ridge Dr. The zoning for that lot is A-I.It is not large enough with an A-I zoning to build on.The zoning will be changed with the new zoning update.There are some people interested in the lot.The commission recommended to them to start the rezoning hearing process or wait until the public hearing and the new ordinance has been adopted. The minutes were read and there were two minor changes (Acres,Steele).Motioned by Hoifeldt, second by Steele to approve the minutes with the changes.Motion carried 5 to o. J effDowning proposed rezoning of a portion of Sunrise Meadow to R-4 to allow development of Townhouses.There would be 22 units on the lots.The townhouses would be walkouts with driveways around the back.The two car garages would be under the back of units.They would sell around $110,00.Jeff would like to set a public hearing date for a rezoning hearing.They are trying to put addition buffer between the industrial area and the single family houses and they think this would be a good solution.This has to be rezoned R-4.Hoifeldt motioned to recommend to the council rezoning lots 1-7 of Sunrise Meadow to R-4.Heskett seconded the motion.Motion carried 5 to O. The Commission started to go through the Subdivision Review Ordinance.They looked at approximately half of the ordinance and noted some changes. The yearly election of officers took place.Applegate motioned,Heskett seconded to leave all of the officers the same for 1996.Motion carried 5 to O.Chairman-Royer,Vice-Chairman-Steele,Secretary- Blazanin. The next meeting will be February 27. Motion by Applegate,Second by Steele to adjourn at 8 :45pm. Meeting adjourned.
