MEETING.
The April 10,2001 meeting of the Planning &Zoning Commission was called to order at 7:09
p.m.by Chairman Steele.
Roll Call.The Chairman asked for a roll call and the following Commissioners were present:
Steele,McCoige,White,Willits,and Schoeberl (7:20).Absent:Korpanty and Hoifeldt.
Council Representative present:None.
Agenda Approval.Chairman Steele asked ifthere were any changes to the agenda.None.
Motion by Commissioner Willits,second by Commissioner McCoige to approve the agenda.
The Commission Chairman asked for a roll call vote:Ayes:Willits,McCoige,White,
Schoeberl,and Steele.Nays:None.
Adoption of Previous Meetiugs Minutes.Motion by Commissioner White,second by
Commissioner McCoige to "Adopt the March 27,2001 meeting minutes.Chairman Steele asked
for a roll call vote.Ayes:White,McCoige,Willits,Schoeberl,and Steele.Nays:None.
Approve Amending the Urban Renewal Area.Motion by Commissioner McCoige,second by
Commissioner Willits to "Approve Amending the Urban Renewal Area".Chairman Steele
asked for a roll call vote.Ayes:McCoige,Willits,White,Schoeberl,and Steele.Nays:None.
Discussion Only -Ordinance ameuding Chapter 301 (Zoning Ordinance).AN
ORDINANCE AMENDING CHAPTER 301,COMPREHENSIVE ZONING REGULATIONS
FOR THE CITY OF WAUKEE,row A,BE DELETING THEREFROM SECTIONS
RELATING TO SIGNS WITHIN THE CITY OF WAUKEE.The City staff has recommended
taking all of the sign information out of the zoning ordinance and creating an ordinance dealing
only with signs.
Discussion Only -Ordinance Chapter 305.AN ORDINANCE UNDER CHAPTER 305,
WAUKEE MUNICIPAL CODE,ESTABLISHING A SIGNAGE ORDINANCE,PROVIDING
FOR THE ADMINISTRATION AND ENFORCEMENT THEREOF,AND PROVIDING FOR
THE REPEAL OF ALL ORDINANCES INCONFLICT THEREWITH.This is the new sign
ordinance created by the sign information pulled from the zoning ordinance.The commission
made several recommendations for changes within the ordinance for staffto review.
Adjournmeut.Motion by Commissioner Willits,second by Commissioner White to adjourn at
8:06 p.m,Chairman Steele asked for a roll call vote:Ayes:Willits,White,McCoige,
Schoeberl,and Steele.Nays:None.
