HomeMy WebLinkAbout1995-05-23-Planning and Zoning Commission MinutesPlanning &Zoning May 23,1995 The meeting was called to order at 7:03PM by Chairman Royer with Kurt Rueckel taking minutes. Roll call was taken with the following members present:Korpanty,Hoifeldt,Royer,Heskett, Blazanin,Applegate.Steele arrived at 7:05PM.Absent:None Motion by Applegate,seconded by Hoifeldt to approve the minutes of the April 25,1995 meeting. Motion passed 7-0. LANDSHARK ESTATES -This is a subdivision about one half mile north of the city limits, between North tenth and Warrior Lane.It is outside of the City's comprehensive plan.Because it appears that the City will not annex in this area,a motion was made by Applegate,seconded by Korpanty to waive the City's right to review the plans.Upon voice vote,the motion passed 7-0. BRODERICK REZONING (VET.CLINIC/DOG KENNEL)-The Broderick's brought this issue to the Planning and Zoning Commission again and stated that the majority of their business would be for the Vet.Clinic.There are 23 indoor/outdoor dog runs proposed in the kennel.After some discussion,motion by Applegate,seconded by Heskett to approve rezoning to C-l.Upon voice vote the motion passed 7-0.This will be brought to the proper procedures for the rezoning request for City council approval. REZONING REQUEST -WALNUT RIDGE -Brian Redshaw brought forward a request to have his client's property in Walnut Ridge rezoned.Currently the property is zoned A-I which requires an acre of land,the maj ority of the lots in Walnut Ridge are less than that.Consequently,if any development is to take place a variance will be needed or the property will have to be rezoned. After much discussion it was proposed that language be looked at to be added or found in the ordinance that would exempt developed,annexed land that is a legal nonconforming use from certain requirements,The size of the lots was also discussed,No action was taken on this issue. ZONING MAP -The Planning and Zoning Commission again looked at the zoning map mainly discussing the downtown area and what to zone it.The final proposal is ahnost completed. Motion by Applegate,seconded by Blazanin to adjourn at 8:45PM,Upon voice vote the motion passed 7-0. Meeting adjourned. Respectfully Submitted, ()q;
