MEETING.
Chairman Steele called the June 12,2001 meeting of the Planning &Zoning Commission to
order at 7:08 p.m ..
Roll Call.The Chairman asked for a roll call and the following Commissioners were present:
Steele,McCoige,Willits,White,and Hoifeldt.Absent:Korpanty and Schoeberl.
Council Representative present:None.
Agenda Approval.Chairman Steele asked if there were any changes to the agenda.
Commissioner Hoifeldt asked that Exterior Storage in an M-l District be added as item #5,and
Sidewalk Placement along 3rd Street be added as item #6.The Commission Chairman asked for
a roll call vote:Ayes:Willits,McCoige,White,Hoifeldt,and Steele.Nays:None.
Adoption of Previous Meetings Minutes.Motion by Commissioner McCoige,second by
Commissioner Willits to "Adopt the May 22,2001 meeting minutes with the recommended
corrections.Chairman Steele asked for a roll call vote.Ayes:McCoige,Willits,White,
Hoifeldt,and Steele.Nays:None.
Approve the Site Plan for Scooby's Auto Repair.Monument signs have been added to the
colored rendering of the site plan,this will be included on the site plan to be submitted to the
City Council.Discussion took place on the fencing in the rear of the building to hide tire and oil
disposal and storage,it was decided that they will use the same style of concrete panels used on
the rest of the building with the exception that they will be 5"non-insulated concrete panels.
Photo metrics will be submitted to the city before a building permit will be issued.Motion by
Commissioner Hoifeldt,second by Commissioner Willits to "Approve the site plan for Scooby's
Auto Repair contingent on the items on the Veenstra &Kimm comment letter are addressed,a
Public Utility Easement is added along the west side of the lot,and separate meters will service
each unit".Chairman Steele asked for a roll call vote.Ayes:Hoifeldt,Willits,White,McCoige,
and Steele.Nays:None.
Discussion -Exterior Storage iu an M -1 District.Commissioner Hoifeldt questioned the
storage in the M-I area along Alice's Road.This situation has been addressed as a code
violation and the staff is currently working with them to correct the problem.Dennis said he will
contact them again.
Discussion -Sidewalk Placement along 3"d Street.There is an empty lot along 3rd Street that
does not have a sidewalk in place.Staff will look into getting the sidewalk installed.
Adjournment.Motion by Commissioner Willits,second by Commissioner Hoifeldt to adjourn
at 7:38 p.m.Chairman Steele asked for a roll call vote:Ayes:Willits,Hoifeldt,McCoige,
White,and Steele.Nays:None.
