The meeting was called to order at 7:05pm with the following members present:Steele,
Heskett,McCoige,Royer,Hoifeldt and Korpanty.
AGENDA APPROVAL
An item #7 was inserted into the agenda to address a request made by the City of
Clive to change the name of Hawthorne Dr.in the Hawthorne Ridge Development.
Motion by Hoifeldt,second by McCoige to accept agenda as amended.Ayes:unanimous
PREVIOUS MEETINGS MINUTES
Motion by Hoifeldt,second by McCoige to approve April meeting minutes.
Ayes:unanimous.
mGHSCHOOLBllffiTRA~
Gary Hammers ofRDG,asked the Planning and Zoning Commission to delay the
schools requirement of placing the bike trail across their property until the best location
for the path is established by adjacent development.
Motion by Korpanty to allow the school to delay placement of the bike trail on
their property until adjacent development takes place.Second by Joan Heskett.Ayes:
Unanimous.
The members of the commission said that they wanted the Park Board to be
involved in looking at adjacent development for the best placement of the bike trail.
ALICE'S SUBDIVISION
A three parcel subdivision of property adjoining,but outside of the City's
corporate limit along Alice's Road,was brought before the commission to determine if
the City should require the property to go through the formal subdivision process.John
Kursitis noted that the R.O.W.was only 40'on the west side of Alices Road and the city's
plans call for that to be 50'.
Hoifeldt made a motion that the plat did not have to go through the formal
subdivision procedures if the 50'R.O.W.could be obtained.Second by Korpanty.Ayes:
Unanimous.
SITE PLAN ORDINANCE
The commission reviewed the changes to he ordinance that came out of the two
meetings that were held with developers.Minor changes were suggested by the
comrmssron.
Motion by Hoifcldt to approve the Site Plan Ordinance with changes noted and to
send the ordinance on to the City Council for their consideration.Second by Heskett.
Ayes:Unanimous.
RENAME HAWTHORNE DR.
The City of Clive requested that we change the name of our Hawthorne Dr.,as
they have a Hawthorne drive that crosses Boone Dr.approximately Vz mile to the north.
Their reason was to alleviate possible confusion for public safety reasons.
Motion by Hoifcldt to request City Council to change Hawthorne Dr.to
Hawthorne Ridge Dr.Second by Royer.Ayes:Unanimous.
