HomeMy WebLinkAbout1997-06-24-Planning and Zoning Commission Minutes330 The Waukee Planning &Zoning Commission was called to order on Tuesday,June 24th,1997 at 7:03pm by Chairman Jerry Steele ] Present:Heskett,Steele,Hoifeldt,and Blazanin.Absent:Korpanty and Applegate. Toni Lestina was present and taking minutes. AGENDA APPROVAL.Approved as written. APPROVAL OF MINUTES.Correction page 2-8 ft water main should be 8 inch water main. Motion by Royer,seconded by Hoifeldt,to approve the minutes with corrections.Motion carried voice vote. PRELIMINARY PLAT WINDFIELD II COMMERCIAL.Gary Reed,Kirk &Michael, explained the Windfield II Commercial Preliminary Plat.All the comments mentioned by V &K have been addressed and corrected, Hoifeldt mentioned the frontage of the grocery store being on the east side of the building.Gary explained the frontage is on the east and north sides of the building. The intent for the drainage into Broderick's field will be 2 -15 inch pipes and further along the way will be tied into a 21 inch drainage pipe. Motion by Blazanin,seconded by Hoifeldt,to approve the Windfield II Commercial Preliminary Plat.Motion carried voice vote. PRELIMINARY PLAT WINDFIELD II RESIDENTIAL.Gary Reed,Kirk &Michael, explained the Windfield II Residential Preliminary Plat.They have a signed agreement for the drainage easement that runs through Mr.Broderick's property.The cost sharing should be taken care of and handled by July 3rd. -------Motion-by-HoifeIElt,seeonded-by-Bl<mmin,to-aj'Jj'Jf0ve-with-the-stij'Julatien-subjeet-te-a-eest--·--- sharing agreement for the drainage to the north and agreement with the School for the drainage to the south.Motion carried voice vote. TOWNHOMES SITE PLAN WINDFIELD II.Mike Willey,Kirk &Michael,explained the Windfield II Townhomes Site plan. Royer and Heskett would like to see more ranch style townhomes developed. Motion by Blazanin,seconded by Hoifeldt,to approve the Windfield II Townhome Site Plan. Motion carried voice vote.j June 24,1997 -Planning and Zoning Committee Minutes Boone Drive Paving Plans.Brad Cooper,Civil Engineering Consultants,explained the Paving Plans for Boone Drive.With the planned schedule this project should be completed by the time schools starts in the fall. Jeff Downing,Downing Development,asked why did he have to put in 31 ft pavement with curb and gutter and a turn lane and it has not been a requirement for this development. Motion by Hoifeldt,to approve the preliminary plan to pave Boone Drive with a 24ft wide road with the understand that this was to have the remaining gravel area paved with the fairness issue be addressed by the Council before this project would be final approved.Motion failed for lack of a seconded. Motion Blazanin,seconded by Royer,that the Boone Drive paving project should follow the 31ft standards to meet city standards.Motion carried voice vote. SEPTAGON LANDSCAPING.This item was approved with the condition of a landscaping drawing being submitted. Motion by Heskett,seconded by Hoifeldt,to approve the landscaping plan for Septagon.Motion carried voice vote. DOWNING DEVELOPMENT REZONING.Jeff Downing,Downing Development,present the Commission with a drawing of the proposed property to be rezoned. Motion by Blazanin,seconded by Heskett,to amend the comprehensive plan as legally described to C from the existing L-l.Motion carried voice vote. Motion by Royer,seconded by Blazanin,to rezone the Downing property from A-I to C-l. Motion carried voice vote. OTHER BUSINESS.None. ADJOURNMENT.Motion by Royer,seconded by Blazanin to adjourn at 8:40pm.Motion carried voice vote. The next Planning and Zoning Meeting is scheduled for July 22nd.
