how streets in Westgate Plat 3 had been named like those in Westgate Plat 2.The other streets
started north south but curved toward the east making continuation in Plat 3 reasonable,
however,Glendale does not curve.As such,one portion of it runs entirely north south and the
other portion runs entirely east west.Fire Chief Schmitt expressed a concern over this and

MEETING.
The July 25,2000 meeting of the Planning &Zoning Commission was called to order at 7:05
p.m.by Chairman Steele.
Roll Call.The Chairman asked for a roll call and the following Commissioners were present:
Steele,McCoige,Hoifeldt,Royer (7:11),and Applegate.Absent:Korpanty and Schoeberl.
Council Representative present:None.
Agenda Approval.Chairman Steele asked if there were any changes to the agenda,Item #6-
Congregate Housing Project for Parkview Crossing was deleted.Motion by Commissioner
Hoifeldt,second by Commissioner McCoige to approve the agenda.The Commission Chairman
asked for a roll call vote:Ayes:Hoifeldt,McCoige,Applegate,and Steele.Nays:None.
Adoption of Previous Meetings Minutes.Motion by Commissioner McCoige,second by
Commissioner Hoifeldt to "Adopt the July 10,2000 meeting minutes".Chairman Steele asked
for a roll call vote.Ayes:McCoige,Hoifeldt,Royer,Applegate and Steele.Nays:None.
Approve Southfork Woods Plat 2 Final Plat.Bill Murphy with Bishop Engineering presented
the Final Plat and covered a number of the items on Veenstra and Kimm's comment letters.
Motion by Commissioner Hoifeldt,second by Commissioner McCoige to "Approve the Final
Plat for Southfork Woods Plat 2 subject to items 1 and 5 from Veenstra and Kimm's letter dated
July 19 and item 6 on V &K's letter dated May 23.Chairman Steele asked for a roll call vote.
Ayes:Hoifeldt,McCoige,Royer,Applegate and Steele.Nays:None.
Approve East Park Preliminary Plat.Tom Whitman of Civil Engineering Consultants
presented for Jim Campney.Motion by Commissioner Hoifeldt,second by Commissioner
Applegate to approve the Preliminary Plat for East Park subject to the sidewalk being shown on
the final plat.Chairman Steele asked for a roll call vote.Ayes:Hoifeldt,Applegate,McCoige,
Royer,and Steele.Nays:None.
Approve Sign Ordinance.Commissioner McCoigc asked whether or not allowing any material
for part of the sign could be a problem.Chad Weaver,City Intern,answered that it should not.
Commissioner Steele pointed out that a builder would not likely put a poorly constructed sign
into the required brick or stone base.Motion by Commissioner Applegate,second by
Commissioner Royer to approve the Sign Ordinance and send it to City Council for approval.
Chairman Steele asked for a roll call vote.Ayes:Applegate,Royer,McCoige,Hoifeldt,and
Steele.Nays:None.

requested the change.Beth Richardson suggested Sandalwood Drive as the new name.
Commissioner Applegate made a motion to approve the change,Commissioner Hoifeldt
seconded.Chairman Steele asked for a roll call vote.Ayes:Applegate,Hoifeldt,Steele,Royer,
McCoige.Nays:None.
Adjournment.Motion by Commissioner Applegate,second by Commissioner McCoige to
adjourn at 7:42 p.m.Chairman Steele asked for a roll call vote:Ayes:Applegate,McCoige,
Royer,Hoifeldt and Steele.Nays:None.
