MINUTES OF THE TUESDAY NOVEMBER 13,2001 PLANNING AND ZONING
COMMISSION MEETING.
Chairman Steele called the November 13,2001 meeting ofthe Planning &Zoning Conunission
to order at 7:03 p.m.
Roll Call.The Chairman asked for a roll call and L'1efollowing Commissioners were present:
Steele,McCoige,Willits,White,and SchoeberL Absent:Hoifeldt and Korpanty.
Council Representative present:None.
Agenda Approval.Chairman Steele asked if there were any changes to the agenda.Delete item
#5.Motion by Commissioner Schoeberl,second by Commissioner McCoige to "Approve the
Agenda with the change".The Commission Chairman asked for a roll call vote:Ayes:
Schoeberl,McCoige,White,Willits,and Steele.Nays:None.
Adoption ofPrevions Meetings Minutes.Motion by Commissioner Willits,second by
Conunissioner White to "Adopt the October 23,2001 meeting minutes".Chairman Steele asked
for a roll call vote.Ayes:Willits,White,McCoige,Schoeberl,and Steele.Nays:None.
Approve the Final Plat for Brighton Park Town homes.Rick Ross presented the final plat
for approval.There was significant discussion on the installation of curb,gutter,and storm
sewer along L.A.Grant Parkway.The developer is responsible according to the Land
Subdivision Ordinance to provide at least 31'curb and gutter along L.A.Grant Parkway.
Motion by Commissioner Schoeberl,second by Conunissioner Willits to "Approve the Final Plat
for Brighton Park Town homes contingent on the Veenstra &Kimm and staff comments are
resolved.Further the Planning and Zoning Conunission recommends that the Developer bonds
for the public improvements including the 31'curb and gutter along L.A.Grant Parkway".
Chairman Steele asked for a roll call vote.Ayes:Schoeberl,Willits,White,and Steele.Nays:
McCoige.
Discussion.The Planning and Zoning Commission would like guidance from staff and City
Council on providing consistency for road widths throughout the City.
The second scheduled meeting date for P &Z falls on Christmas Day.It was decided that the
first meeting will take place on its regularly scheduled date and if necessary a special meeting
can be scheduled for later in the month.It will be the decision of the staff if a second meeting is
necessary.
Mark Schoeberl's term will be up the end of December.
