HomeMy WebLinkAbout1995-12-19-Planning and Zoning Commission MinutesMINUTES OF PLANNING AND ZONING COMMISSION 12119/95 The meeting was called to order at 7:03 by Chairman Royer. Upon roll call the following members were present:Royer,Applegate,Korpanty,Heskett,Hoifeldt Absent:Steel,Blazanin. Motion by Hoifeldt,seconded by Heskett to approve the minutes changing wrong date on the Planning and Zoning calender,and deletiog the extra "to"under the Subdivision Ordinance Review.Upon voice vote the motion passed 4-0. There were no additions to the agenda. DATATRON SITE PLAN Roger Silver ofEDS presented the site plan for the DATATRON site in the Hickman West Industrial Park.He reviewed the site plan and the location of the dry docks,parking,and landscaping.The Planning and Zoning Commission discussed the location of the hydrants along Walnut and the coverage that they would provide.The owners stated that they are willing to put another hydrant in when they build another building OIl the site.Motion by Hoifeldt,seconded by Korpanty to approve the site plan if the proposed locations for the fire hydrants are approved by the Fire Chief with an easement for the a futore water main to be obtained.Datatron will have nine employees when they are all in the office.Upon voice vote the motion carried 4-0. KELLER ACRES The Planning and Zoning Commission discussed the proposed final plat of Keller acre which lies outside the city but within two miles of the city's boundary.The proposed site plan lies within an area that is targeted for industrial use in the City's comprehensive plan,in addition,it is in an area that is very near the proposed bypass to the west of the city.The site is zoned A-I in both the City and the County.The County's long range plans calls for this area to be residential use. Steel arrived at 7:35PM. After a brief discussion aboutthe non -conformance with the city's long range plans,other plans that have been reviewed )1 outside the city limits,power line easements,and the fntnre bypass,a motion was made by Hoifeldt,seconded by Heskett to not approve the site plan until the city can sit down with the County and coordinate their long range plans.Upon voice vote the motion passed 5-0. WARNING SIRENS The Planning and Zoning Commission discussed the warning sirens and,where they are now,where they might be needed, what type might be necessary,and how the City might be able to charge the developers for new sirens where they are needed.The Commission talked about the need for sirens in Southfork and in Sahu Acres and large vs.Small sirens.The Commission also talked about whether or not there was a need for sirens near the schools or if the schools had their own warning system.
