MEETING.
Chairman Hoifeldt called the January 8,2008 meeting ofthe Planning and Zoning Commission to order
at 6:45 p.m.
Roll Call.Chairman Hoifeldt asked for a roll call and the following Commissioners were present:
Hoifeldt,Airhart,Dutcher,Schmidt,Mook,and Wilson.Absent:Steele.Others in attendance:Jolm
Kursitis,Brad Deets,Ben Landhauser,and Dennis Dowell.
Agenda Approval.Motion by Commissioner Schmidt,seconded by Commissioner Airhart,to "Approve
the Agenda for January 8,2008.Ayes:Schmidt,Airhart,Dutcher,Mook,Wilson,and Hoifeldt,Nays:
None.Motion carried.
Approval of December 11,2007 Regular Meetiug Minntes.Motion by Commissioner Schmidt,
seconded by Commissioner Mook to "Adopt the December II,2007 Regular Meeting Minutes with the
correction of Dan Dutcher abstaining from the Glynn Village portions."Ayes:Schmidt,Airhart,Dutcher,
Mook,Wilson,and Hoifeldt,Nays:None.Motion carried.
Open Forum.No one appeared to address the Commission during the Open Forum.
Motion to Approve the Election of Officers for 2008.Motion by Commissioner Airhart,seconded by
Comrrrissioner Schmidt,to "Approve Commissioner Mook as 2008 Chairman."Ayes:Wilson,Hoifeldt,
Schmidt,Airhart,Dutcher,Mook.Nays:None.Motion carried,
Motion by Commissioner Wilson,seconded by Commissioner Airhart to "Approve Commissioner
Schmidt as 2008 Vice Chairman."Ayes:Wilson,Hoifeldt,Schmidt,Airhart,Dutcher,Mook.Nays:
None.Motion carried.
Motion by Commissioner Schmidt,seconded by Commissioner Dutcher to "Approve Commissioner
Airhart as 2008 Secretary."Ayes:Wilson,Hoifeldt,Schmidt,Airhart,Dutcher,Mook.Nays:None.
Motion carried.
Motion to approve the preliminary plat for Glynn Village Plat 4.Director of Planning,Brad Deets,
briefly explained the applicants request for approval of a preliminary plat which includes 22 single-family
residential lots southwest of the current development within the Glynn Village development.
Commissioner Scbmidt asked for clarification ofthe proposed location ofthe 10 foot (rail associated with
the plat.Brad Deets confirmed that the shown location was accurate.Commissioner Mook briefly asked
the applicant to clarify if the types of drainage proposed for the plat would be consistent with the existing
plats in Glynn Village;to which the applicant stated they would be the same.Motion by Commissioner
Schmidt,seconded by Commissioner Wilson to "Approve the preliminary plat for Glynn Village Plat 4
subject to completion of any staff comments."Ayes:Wilson,Schmidt,Airhart,Mook,and Iloifeldt,
Nays:None.Abstain:Dutcher.Motion carried,
New Bnsiness.Director or Planning,Brad Deets,stated that he would need the commissioners to sign
the Signature Page for the Code of Iowa Chapters 21 and 22 and provide the signed copies to him in tbe
coming days.Commissioner Hoifeldt stated that both Commissioner Schmidt and himself had been
asked to serve on the Planning and Zoning Commission for another 5 years.
Adjournment.Motion by Commissioner Schmidt,second by Commissioner Dutcher,to adjoum at
6:56 P.M.Ayes:Schmidt,Airhart,Mook,Hoifeldt,Dutcher,and Wilson.Nays:None.Motion carried.
