MEETING.
The May 24,2011 Planning and Zoning Commission meeting was called to order at 6:00 p.m.
Roll Call.The following Commissioners were present:Hoifeldt,Johnson,Mook,Streit,Nigro,and
Schmidt.Absent:McCulloh.Others in attendance:Ben Landhauser,Beth Richardson,and Council
Representative Casey Harvey.
Agenda Approval.Motion by Commissioner Hoife1dt seconded by Commissioner Mook to approve the
agenda for May 24,2011."Ayes:Hoifeldt,Mook,Streit,Nigro,Johnson,and Schmidt.Nays:None.
Motion carried.
Approval of the April 26,2011 Regular Meeting Minutes.Motion by Commissioner Mook,seconded
by Commissioner Hoifeldt to adopt the April 26,2011 Regular Meeting Minutes.Ayes:Mook,Hoifeldt,
Streit,Johnson,Nigro,and Sclnnidt.Nays:None.Motion carried.
Open Forum.No one appeared to address the Commission during the Open Forum.
Approval of Amendment to Section 301.4 (Official ZonIng Map for the City of Waukee,State of
Iowa).City Planner,Ben Landhauser,explained that the last Official Zoning Map was approved in April
2008.The proposed Zoning Map shows all zoning changes that have been completed since that time.
Motion by Commissioner Johnson,seconded by Commissioner Streit to approve Amendment to Section
301.4 (Official Zoning Map for the City of Waukee,State ofIowa).Ayes:Johnson,Streit,Nigro,Mook,
Hoifeldt,and Schmidt.Nays:None.Motion carried.
Approval of a Site Plan for a Parking Lot Addition to Latter Day Saints Church -400 SE Pleasant
View Drive.City Planner,Ben Landhauser,explained the project involves the expansion of the parking
area by 56 parking stalls from the existing 136 stalls,to provide a total of 192 parking stalls.The
applicant is also proposing to construct a full access point into the property from SE L.A.Grant Parkway.
The full access point is approximately 390 feet from the centerline of SE Pleasant View Drive,which
exceeds the City's minimum spacing requirement of250 feet.
Motion by Commissioner Hoifeldt,seconded by Commissioner Mook to approve the Site Plan for a
Parking Lot Addition to Latter Day Saints Church -400 SE Pleasant View Drive.Ayes:Hoife1dt,Mook,
Johnson,Nigro,Streit,and Sclnnidt.Nays:None.Motion carried.
New Business.Ben Landhauser informed the Commissioners to expect both regular meetings for the
month of June.The City has received a project north of Gilcrest Jewett and 2 projects from Hubbell
Realty to be reviewed.
Adjournment.Motion by Commissioner Mook,second by Commissioner Johnson,to adjourn the
meeting at 6:09 P.M.Ayes:Mook,Johnson,Hoifeldt,Nigro,Streit,and Sclnnidt.Nays:None.Motion
carried,Meeting adjourned.
