The August 2,2001 Board of Adjustments meeting was called to order at 7:00 p.m,by
Chairman Oxenford.
Roll Call.The Chairman asked for roll call vote and the following Board Members were
present:Oxenford,Ellis,Phillips,and Colter (7:02 pm).Absent:Gatrel.
Council Representative present:None.
Agenda Approval.Motion by Ellis,second by Phillips to approve the agenda.
Chairman Oxenford asked for a roll call vote.Ayes:Ellis,Phillips,Colter,and
Oxenford,Nays:None.
Approval of the March 2,2001 Board of Adjustment Minutes.Motion by Phillips,
second by Ellis to approve the March 2,2001 Board of Adjustment Minutes.Chairman
Oxenford asked for a roll call vote.Ayes:Phillips,Ellis,Colter,and Oxenford.Nays:
None.
Approve the Variance for Ed and Teresa Slauson.A variance was requested by Ed
and Teresa Slauson,315 Northview Drive,to place a 24'x 36'garage approximately 19
feet outside of the building set back line.The garage,according to the R-2 zoning
classification building set back line,would put the garage in the center ofthe rear yard.
Several of the neighbors;Don Bailey,685 -3'd Street,Mike Watts,675 -3rd Street,and
Don Austin,71 0 -3'd Street,spoke in favor for the variance.Motion by Colter,second
by Phillips to "Approve the variance allowing Ed and Teresa Slauson to build their
garage 19'outside of the R-2 building set back line according to the drawing submitted to
the Board of Adjustments".Chairman Oxenford asked for a roll call vote.Ayes:Colter,
Phillips,Ellis,and Oxenford.Nays:None.After further discussion,a motion was made
by Ellis,second by Colter to "Place a time frame on the variance;the garage should be
started within 30 days from this variance,and completed by November 30,2001."
Chairman Oxenford asked for a roll call vote.Ayes:Ellis,Colter,Phillips,and
Oxenford.Nays:None.
