HomeMy WebLinkAbout1984-11-06-Board of Adjustment MinutesNovember 6,1984 The Waukee Board of Adjustment hearing was called to order at 7:13 p.m. C.S.T.by Chairman Tom Inman. This hearing was advertised in the Dallas County News and property owners within a 200'radius of the proposed variance were notified by regular mail. Zoning Administrator,Tom McClure,indicated his reasoning behind the refusal of Mr.Masters'.requ"stfor a building permit for a garage. He cited Sections 301.7,301017,and 301.24D of the Waukee Municipal Code.He indicated that there were no established buffer zones between commercial and residential property within the city limits of Waukee. Mr Wetsch indicated that there were applications of this concept in Minneapolis,Minnesota and Omaha,Nebraska. A roll call was taken as follows:Present:Volkmer,Anderson,Thompson, Aldrich,and Inman.Absent:None recorded. No corrections or alterations were received so the minutes of October 2,1984 were declared approved as written by Chairman Inman. David Wetsch,an attorney from Des Moines,represented Ronald L Masters of 70-4th Street before the Waukee Board of Adjustment. Guests present at this meeting were:Tom McClure,Brian Redshaw,Marc Stiles,Kelly Morris,Jerry McCullough,and Stan Klein. It was indicated that the metal fabrication activities of Mr.Masters were to be of a hobby variety only.He advised the Board that the primary usage of this property was to be residential.No signage was to be anticipated.Masters told the Board that he does not advertise but does this work as favors for his friends. Chairman Inman formally asked for any comments or objections by affected property owners to the proposed variance for Mr.Masters.None were received. Moved by Anderson,second by Volkmer,to approve Ron Masters variance and allow him to construct a garage at 70-4th Street as per his building permit application.Carried 5 to O. Moved by Aldrich,second by Thompson,to adjourn at 7:56 p.m.Carried 5 to O. Meeting adjourned. Chairman
