MINUTES OF THE DECEMBER 21,2000 BOARD OF ADJUSTMENTS MEETING
The December 21,2000 Board of Adjustments meeting was called to order at 7:01 p.m.
by Chairman Oxenford.
Roll CalL The Chairman asked for roll call vote and the following Board Members were
present:Oxenford,Ellis,Gatrel (7 :03),and Phillips.Absent:Colter.
Council Representative present:Bill Peard.
Agenda Approval.Motion by Ellis,second by Phillips to approve the agenda.
Chairman Oxenford asked for a roll call vote.Ayes:Ellis,Phillips,Gatrel,and
Oxenford.Nays:None.
Approval of the November 20,2000 Board of Adjustment Minutes.Motion by
Phillips,second by Ellis to approve the November 20,2000 Board of Adjustment
Minutes.Chairman Oxenford asked for a roll call vote.Ayes:Phillips,Ellis,Gatrel,and
Oxenford.Nays:None.
Old Business.None.
Approve the Variance for Westview Church /US Cellular.Dennis Connolly
represented the Westview Church /US Cellular's variance.US Cellular wants to build a
tower on the property ofthe Westview Church to be used to hold cellular antennas which
would communicate with other towers in the area.The board was concerned with the
need for the height of the tower being 75 feet tall ahnost double the height of the church
located on the property.Mr.Connolly explained that they needed the height to
communicate over the tops of all the buildings in the area.Motion by Gatrel,second by
Phillips to "Approve the site plan for Westview Church /US Cellular tower".Chairman
Oxenford asked for a roll call vote.Ayes:None.Nays:Phillips,Ellis,Oxenford,and
Gatrel.
New Business.There was discussion on electing the officers for the board.Motion by
Phillips,second by Gatrel to "Leave the officers as they are".Chairman Oxenford asked
for a roll call vote.Ayes:Phillips,Gatrel,Ellis,and Oxenford.Nays:None.
Adjournment.Motion by Ellis,second by Phillips to adjourn at 7:35 p.m.The
Chairman asked for a roll call vote:Ayes:Ellis,Phillips,Gatrel,and Oxenford.Nayes:
None
