Eagle Scout Project
Brad Tofteland proposed a possible Eagle Scout project
that includes cleaning up the main creek area in Centennial Park
and repairing a bridge.He will get approval of his outlined
plans by the Boy Scout Committee and the City Council.The
work will include 150 hours of work by Brad and other Scouts
and adults and be completed by mid-summer.

At the pUblic meeting concerning Windfield Park suggestions
made for its development included a fence or hedge around the
park,play equipment,including a unit like the new ones in
Centennial Park,an open shelter house,some picnic tables and
trees.
The pUblic meeting concerning Westfield Park was cancelled
because of the weather and is set for February 12 at 7:00 PM
at City Hall.
The city-ownedpark area behind Pastor Schlaefer's home
has no access and is not usable as a park.Some alternatives
were discussed concerning this area.
Clean-up Day
Bob Trissel outlined possible plans for a Clean-up Day
at Centennial Park to be held on Saturday,April 20,with the
rain date,April 27.The workday hours would be 8:00-4:00,
starting at the shelter house forFork assignments.possible
projects would be clean up of the grounds,painting picnic tables,
and work on the ball fields.Possibly lunch for those working all
day would be provided.Promotion of the work day would be
through the Waukee Taukee,Dallas East of the Dallas County
News and the Neighbor section of the Des Moines Register,
and presentation to community groups of adults and young people.

Ice Skating Rink
The ice skating rink has been set up just west
volley ball court.It is an area about 70 x 75 feet,
bales of straw and has a durable re-usable liner.

*It was reported that the JayCees do plan to sponsor
the street dance this summer.
*Representatives from the Lion's Club and the JayCees
will be invited to the ~ebruary Park Committee meeting to discuss
projects/on which these groups could work together.
*The next regular meeting is Tuesday,February 27 at
7:00 PM at the Waukee Public Library.
