at the shelter house.Admission would be charged.
c.Develop an organized recreation league for adult
softball and volley ball.
*A letter of complaint was read and will be placed on file,
regardIng tne condItIon at tne restrooms In tne center Ot tne parK.
The restrooms need reconditioning;replace the porceline fixtures
with stainless steel, install new dividers, increase the water
pressure. It was suggested that when the police close the park
at 10:00 PM that they check the bathrooms for evidence of
vandalism and lock the bathrooms.
*Windfield Park:
The developer is to regrade the area. The rocks need to
be removed. The area will be reseeded and fertilized this fall.
*The ice-skating rink located on the sand volley ball court:
The rink was used a great deal last year.It was decided to keep
the rink at the same location and,if possible, enlarge the area.
Improvement or replacement of the warming house is considered.
*Vandalism seems to be a constant problem in the park.
More lights,or sensor lights might help, also more police
patrol of the area.
The park will be closed after Halloween, the water turned
off and the water lines drained.
*Shelter House rental:
The rental rates for the two shelter houses, for residents
of the city,is $15 rental and $15 deposit, the deposit being
returned if the premises are left clean and undamaged.
John indicated that the rental fee does not pay the week-end
overtime for the on-call person to check the facilities.
*Recreation Program:
A more extensive established recreation program would
be desirable.
Currently a 2 week swimming instruction program is held
mid-summer at the Adel pool,with busing provided.Also,
recreational swimming at the Dallas Center pool is held twice a
week for a 2 month period, busing being provided.
A one week half-day planned program is provided, with a paid
