RESOLUTION 14-105
APPROVAL OF THE TEMPORARY CLOSING OF WALNUT ST.FROM 5TIl ST.
WEST TO 6TIl ST.,AND THE TEMPORARY CLOSING OF 6TIl ST.FROM WALNUT
ST.NORTH TO ASHWORTH DR.ON THURSDAY,JULY 24,2014 BETWEEN THE
HOURS OF 5:00 P.M.AND 9:00 P.M.,AND THE USE OF TRIANGLE PARK DURING
THE SAME SAID DATE AND TIMES,FOR THE PURPOSE OF WAUKEE AREA
ARTS COUNCIL "JAZZ IN JULY"
IN THE NAME AND BY THE AUTHORITY OF THE CITY OF WAUKEE,IOWA
WHEREAS,the Waukee Area Arts Council will sponsor "Jazz in July,"to be held in the
Downtown Triangle Area on Thursday,July 24,2014;AND,
WHEREAS,the Waukee Area Arts Council has requested the temporary closure of Walnut
Street from 5th Street west to 6th Street,and 6th Street from Walnut Street north to Ashworth
Drive between the hours of5:00 p.m.and 9:00 p.m.for the event;AND,
WHEREAS,pursuant to §364.12(2)(a),public ways and grounds maybe temporarily closed by
resolution;
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED by the City of Waukee City Council in session this
5th day of May,2014,that it hereby approves the temporary closing of Walnut St.from 5th St.
west to 6th St.,and the temporary closing of 6th St.from Walnut St.north to Ashworth Dr.on
Thursday,July 24,2014 between the hours of5:00 p.m.and 9:00 p.m.,and the use of Triangle
Park during the same said date and times,for the purpose of Waukee Area Arts Council "Jazz in
July."
