CITY COUNCIL MEETING COMMUNICATION
MEETING DATE: April 20, 2020
AGENDA ITEM: Public Hearing on the annexation of consenting property by the City of
Waukee, Iowa, with consideration of the annexation taking place
immediately thereafter (Petersen/Moore/Stratford Crossing Property).
FORMAT: Public Hearing
SYNOPSIS INCLUDING PRO & CON: Staff has received voluntary annexation
petitions for property located ¾ of a mile north of Hickman Road on the west side of NW 10th
Street. The annexation proposal also includes the property that was recently acquired by the City
as a part of the NW 10th Street improvement project. In total, the three properties include
approximately 40 acres.
The proposed annexation is considered within an urbanized area as it is within two miles
of the Cities of Clive and Urbandale.

STAFF REVIEW AND COMMENT: Staff would recommend holding the public hearing.
RECOMMENDATION: Hold the public hearing
