AGENDA ITEM: Consideration of approval of a resolution approving purchase agreement for
certain property located in the City of Waukee (205 Ashworth Drive)
FORMAT: Resolution
SYNOPSIS INCLUDING PRO & CON: Dallas County recently announced the property located at
205 Ashworth Drive (county shed) would be sold through a public bidding
process. The City of Waukee submitted a bid for the purchase of the property.
A bid-off was held on April 17, 2020 with the top five bidders on the
property. The City was successful in securing the bid and purchase of the
property.
FISCAL IMPACT INCLUDING COST/BENEFIT ANALYSIS: $90,000
COMMISSION/BOARD/COMMITTEE COMMENT:
STAFF REVIEW AND COMMENT: . Staff would recommend the purchase of the property. It is
anticipated that the building will be removed and the property will be
integrated into the adjoining Heart of the Warrior trail property and Windfield
Park area. Dallas County Board of Supervisors is scheduled to take action on
the sale at their meeting scheduled for 4/21/20.

RECOMMENDATION: Approve the resolution.

RESOLUTION 2020-
RESOLUTION APPROVING PURCHASE AGREEMENT FOR CERTAIN
PROPERTY LOCATED IN THE CITY OF WAUKEE [205 ASHWORTH DRIVE]
IN THE NAME AND BY THE AUTHORITY OF THE CITY OF WAUKEE, IOWA
WHEREAS, the City of Waukee, Dallas County, State of Iowa, is a duly organized Municipal
Organization; AND
WHEREAS, the City desires to enter into a Purchase Agreement (hereinafter referred to as the
“Agreement”) and said Agreement has been accepted by the Seller, Dallas County, Iowa, for
certain property locally known as 205 Ashworth Drive, Waukee, Iowa; AND
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Waukee deems it to be in the best interest of the
City to purchase the property; AND
WHEREAS, the proposed Agreement between Dallas County Iowa and the City of Waukee is
attached as Exhibit “A.”
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Waukee that the
Residential Purchase Agreement attached hereto as Exhibit A is approved.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that City Staff is directed to proceed in accordance with the
Agreement. Upon the determination of the City Attorney that the conditions of the offer have
been satisfied and title delivered staff is authorized and directed to proceed with closing.
Passed by the City Council of the City of Waukee, Iowa, and approved the 20th day of April,
2020.
