AGENDA ITEM: Consideration of approval of a resolution approving quote for demolition
of structure [25 Northview Drive]
FORMAT: Resolution
SYNOPSIS INCLUDING PRO & CON: The City has owned the property at 25 Northview
Drive for a number of years. The house and detached garage need to be
removed for the five-way intersection project proposed for next year.
The house is not suitable to be moved to another location. The detached
garage was offered for public bid and moving however, no bids were
received. Staff requested quotes for the demolition of the structure and
restoration of the site.
FISCAL IMPACT INCLUDING COST/BENEFIT ANALYSIS:

STAFF REVIEW AND COMMENT: Three quotes were received for the project:
Elder Corporation: $21,500.00
J Pettiecord: $17,000.00
DeCarlo Demolition: $13,750.00
RECOMMENDATION: Staff recommends approval of resolution awarding the quote to
DeCarlo Demolition in the amount of $13,750.00.

RESOLUTION 2020-
APPROVING QUOTE FOR DEMOLITION OF STRUCTURES – 25 NORTHVIEW DRIVE
IN THE NAME AND BY THE AUTHORITY OF THE CITY OF WAUKEE, IOWA
WHEREAS, the City of Waukee, Dallas County, State of Iowa, is a duly organized Municipal
Organization; AND,
WHEREAS, the City of Waukee acquired the property located at 25 Northview Drive and has determined
that several structures need to be removed; AND,
WHEREAS, City staff requested quotes for the demolition of structures and restoration of the property;
AND,
WHEREAS, having reviewed the submitted quotes, City staff recommends awarding quote for demolition
services located at 25 Northview Drive to DeCarlo Demolition of Des Moines, Iowa in the amount of
$13,750.00.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Waukee, Iowa that the
quotes for the structure demolition as noted above be accepted and approved.
Passed by the City Council of the City of Waukee, Iowa, and approved the 22nd day of June, 2020.
