SYNOPSIS INCLUDING PRO & CON: . This project will take place on SE University Ave
between 142nd St westward to SE Westwoods Dr. This project is part of annual street pavement
maintenance program for the City of Waukee. Quotes were received on Wednesday, July 1, 2020
with two quotes received, Jasper Construction Services in the amount of $122,636 and Q3
Contracting, Inc. in the amount of $145,376. Jasper Construction was the apparent low quote.
Engineer’s estimate on the project is $130,000.
FISCAL IMPACT INCLUDING COST/BENEFIT ANALYSIS: $122,636.00
COMMISSION/BOARD/COMMITTEE COMMENT:
STAFF REVIEW AND COMMENT: Staff recommend approval of the resolution awarding
quote [2020 University Avenue Pavement Patching Project]
RECOMMENDATION: Approve the resolution.

AWARDING QUOTE FOR 2020 UNIVERSITY AVENUE PAVEMENT
PATCHING PROJECT
IN THE NAME AND BY THE AUTHORITY OF THE CITY OF WAUKEE, IOWA
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF WAUKEE, IOWA:
That the following quote for certain public improvements described in general as 2020
University Avenue Pavement Patching Project and described in the Request for Quotes that was
provided to vendors be and is hereby accepted, the same being the lowest responsible quote
received for such work, as follows:
Contractor: Jasper Construction Services of Newton, IA
Amount of quote: $122,636.00
PASSED AND APPROVED this 6th day of July, 2020.
