HomeMy WebLinkAbout2020-08-17-H04 Triumph Park_PHAGENDA ITEM: CITY OF WAUKEE, IOWA CITY COUNCIL MEETING COMMUNICATION MEETING DATE: August 17, 2020 AGENDA ITEM:On proposed plans, specifications, form of contract and estimate of cost [Triumph Park Project] FORMAT:Public Hearing SYNOPSIS INCLUDING PRO & CON: The project is the development of a new regional park which includes the following: Site work includes all work associated with the installation of Twelve (12) competition baseball / softball fields as well as Eight (8) Practice fields. This work includes the construction of Three (3) identical restroom and concessions buildings as well a central maintenance building. Also included is the construction of a Fishing Pier and a General Park Restroom Facility. The drawings outline the components within the fields and include but are not limited to: Dugouts, Fencing, Irrigation, Field Surfacing, Flagpoles, Plaza, Batting Cages, Backstops, Bleachers, Canopy Covers, Etc. It will also include all field, parking, and pathway lighting. Also includes is the construction of the main parking lot that includes 516 Stalls and 4,000 LF of Concrete Trail around the existing pond. Lastly the contractor will be required to coordinate with Landscape Structures as they will install the Playground equipment as well as the Play surfaces for the Miracle Field and the Playground. (See Mandated Alternates). Construction of the project is anticipated to begin September 2020 and will be substantially completed by Spring 2022. At said hearing, any interested person may appear and file objections thereto or to the cost of the improvements. Due to public health concerns and guidance, in accordance with Iowa Code Sections 21.4(1)(b) and 21.8, this meeting of the Waukee City Council will be conducted electronically as holding the meeting in person is impossible or impractical.
