AGENDA ITEM: Consideration of approval of a resolution amending a certain address along SE
LA Grant Parkway (V Avenue)
FORMAT: Resolution
SYNOPSIS INCLUDING PRO & CON: Staff has received a request from property owners to
change the street addresses of several properties located along SE LA Grant
Parkway. The properties were annexed into the City many years ago,
however, the addresses were never changed from being addressed along V
Avenue.
This has caused issue with mail and package delivery and there are concerns
related to emergency response.
The proposed address changes would be consistent with the number sequence
already in place along SE LA Grant Parkway.

STAFF REVIEW AND COMMENT: Staff would recommend approval of the resolution

RESOLUTION 2020-
APPROVAL OF AMENDING CERTAIN ADDRESSES WITHIN THE CITY OF
WAUKEE
IN THE NAME AND BY THE AUTHORITY OF THE CITY OF WAUKEE, IOWA
WHEREAS, the City of Waukee, Dallas County, State of Iowa, is a duly organized
Municipal Organization; AND,
WHEREAS, the properties identified below have previously been annexed into the City
and the addresses have never been changed to reflect the City’s number grid and street
naming system: AND,
WHEREAS, the property owners have experienced issues with mail delivery and have
concerns regarding emergency response and have requested the addresses be changed to
reflect addresses consistent with neighboring properties; AND,
WHEREAS, staff recommends changing the following local addresses for residents and
businesses within the City in order to be consistent with the previously approved
addressing coordinate and numbering system enacted by Waukee City Council as
follows:

NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Waukee,
Iowa in session this 17th day of August 2020, that the local addresses as referenced above
are amended. A copy of this resolution shall be filed of record with the Recorders Office
of Dallas County, Iowa.
