AGENDA ITEM:Consideration of approval of receipt and file of the purchase of radiant
tube heater replacement from MMC Contractors of Des Moines, IA in
the amount of $66,450.00 [Waukee Public Works Facility]
FORMAT:Receipt/File
SYNOPSIS INCLUDING PRO & CON: This purchase is for replacement of the radiant
tube heaters in two bays within the Public Works Facility. The original system has many
failed components and parts that are no longer available as the products have become
discontinued. Staff along with Twin Rivers Engineering put together a five-year
replacement schedule for replacement of this system considering quality, performance,
reliability and warranty. Twin Rivers has also put together specs and drawings utilizing our
existing mechanical contractor MMC of Des Moines to facilitate quotes. The two
companies were able to meet specifications and the quotes for replacement units are
attached.
FISCAL IMPACT INCLUDING COST/BENEFIT ANALYSIS: $66,450.00
This is a scheduled replacement item and is under budget.
