AGENDA ITEM: Consideration of approval of a motion setting November 2, 2020, as the
date of public hearing on proposals for the purchase and removal of
structures owned by the City of Waukee [various locations]
FORMAT: Motion
SYNOPSIS INCLUDING PRO & CON: The City purchased several properties for the
reconstruction of Warrior Lane and the 5-way intersection. The
structures must be removed for the proposed reconstruction of the
intersection to begin in Spring 2021. The properties and structures
include a single family house and detached garage located at 5 Bel Aire
Drive, a single family house and detached garage located at 10 Bel Aire
Drive and a single family house located at 10 Northview Drive.
The City also owns a property located at 905 Ashworth Drive. Staff does
not recommend salvaging the house but the property does include a
detached garage and utility shed that could be relocated.
City staff is recommending a public hearing be set for Monday,
November 2, 2020 to consider any bids that are received for the purchase
and relocation of the structures located at 5 Bel Aire Drive, 10 Bel Aire
Drive, 10 Northview Drive and 905 Ashworth Drive.
