AGENDA ITEM: Public hearing on proposals for the purchase and removal of structures owned
by the City of Waukee [5 Bel Aire Drive, 10 Bel Aire Drive, 10 Northview
Drive, 905 Ashworth Drive]
FORMAT: Motion
SYNOPSIS INCLUDING PRO & CON: Several existing properties located at the 5 way
intersection need to be removed in anticipation for the intersection
improvement project that is scheduled for Spring 2021. Additionally, the City
owns a property at 905 Ashworth Drive that has structures that will eventually
need to be removed.
City staff prepared a request for bids for each individual structure and signs
were placed on each property notifying the public. A bid opening was
scheduled for October 28, 2020. At that time, no bids were received for the
removal of the structures.
