CITY COUNCIL MEETING COMMUNICATION

AGENDA ITEM: Consideration of approval of a resolution amending a certain addresses for
Lots 19, 29, and 34 of Indi Run Plat 1 within the City of Waukee
FORMAT: Resolution
SYNOPSIS INCLUDING PRO & CON: As a part of the final plat for Indi Run Plat 1, the address
assigned to Lot 19 was given as 460 N. Warrior Lane. The address assigned to
Lot 29 was given as 380 N. Warrior Lane. The address assigned to Lot 34 was
given as 340 N. Warrior Lane. All lots are vacant except for Lot 34, but there
is currently no one living in the brand new home which is still owned by the
builder. The reason for the proposed change is that these lots share the same
house number as the lots across the street to the west. Staff identified the error
after the final plat for Indi Run Plat 1 was recorded and now requests approval
of the address changes. Staff has consulted with the owner of Lots 19, 29, and
34 about the proposed address changes and they have indicated that they do
not have any issues with the change.
FISCAL IMPACT INCLUDING COST/BENEFIT ANALYSIS:
COMMISSION/BOARD/COMMITTEE COMMENT:
STAFF REVIEW AND COMMENT: The requested change in address still fits within the confines
of the addressing grid and staff does not have any major concerns with the
proposed change. Upon approval of the City Council, the address change
would be recorded with the County and all records including E911 databases
would be updated with the new address.
RECOMMENDATION: Approve the resolution.

RESOLUTION 19-
APPROVAL OF AMENDING A CERTAIN ADDRESSES FOR LOTS 19, 29, & 34
OF INDI RUN PLAT 1
IN THE NAME AND BY THE AUTHORITY OF THE CITY OF WAUKEE, IOWA
WHEREAS, the City of Waukee, Dallas County, State of Iowa, is a duly organized
Municipal Organization; AND,
WHEREAS, the City of Waukee approved the final plat for Indi Run Plat 1 on August
20, 2018, and recorded said final plat with Dallas County; AND,
WHEREAS, it has been determined that there was a scriveners error related to Lots 19,
29, and 34 of Indi Run Plat 1; AND,
WHEREAS, staff recommends changing the following local addresses for Lots 19, 29,
and 34 of Indi Run Plat 1 as follows:

NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Waukee,
Iowa in session this 8th day of July 2019, that the local addresses as referenced above are
amended. A copy of this resolution shall be filed of record with the Recorders Office of
Dallas County, Iowa.
