SYNOPSIS INCLUDING PRO & CON: The owners of Mickey’s Irish Pub wish to
temporarily extend their outdoor service area on 03/17/2018 for St.
Patrick’s Day.

STAFF REVIEW AND COMMENT: Police, Fire, and Development Services Departments
have reviewed the application and find no reason to deny the permit at
this time.
RECOMMENDATION: Approve the application.

Dear Mayor of Waukee & City Council,
As in the previous 10 years, Mickey’s Irish Pub is planning to extend it’s beverage service area
into the small lawn on the north west corner of the building for March 17th, St. Patrick’s day.
Temporary fencing will contain this area. The fenced area will include 2 portable
bathrooms, and an entrance manned by security. Absolutely no beverages will be allowed into
the parking lot.
In previous years we have found it most effective to have a single main entry/exit point to
crowds, open beverages, and avoid potential underage admittance. This is also our plan this year
as well.
The area to be fenced is marked on the below satellite photo of Mickey’s Irish Pub-Waukee at 50
SE Laurel.
We are proud to say since we purchased the pub we have had incident free St. Patrick’s Day fes-
tivities within Mickey’s. We believe proper security staffing, planning, and crowd control allows
the day to go smoothly for both patrons and Mickey’s Staff.
Contained within this packet is all the necessary requirements to grant our beverage service ex-
