[Waukee Trailhead and Dog Park Project]
FORMAT:Public Hearing
SYNOPSIS INCLUDING PRO & CON: The project is for the Waukee Trailhead and Dog
Park located along the Heart of the Warrior Trail between SE Brick
Drive and Alice’s Road. The work consists of 21 parking stalls, Men’s
and Women’s restrooms including a storage room. 6 decorative light
poles and luminaries; paved rest areas incorporating benches, litter
receptacles, dog waste receptacles, one shade structure and landscaping.
The project will have necessary storm sewer, concrete pipe aprons and
footings; water service for drinking fountains, and sanitary service;
electric distribution system that includes transformer, meter sprocket,
conduit, and panel to supply site lighting. The site is approximately 4
acres and will have crushed granite internal walking paths and sod.
Construction of the project is anticipated to begin in May 2018 and will
be substantially completed by October 15, 2018.

NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING
WAUKEE TRAILHEAD AND DOG PARK

WAUKEE, IOWA
The City Council of Waukee, Iowa, will hold a public hearing on the proposed Plans,
Specifications, Form of Contract and Estimate of Costs for the construction of the above
referenced public improvements at 5:30 p.m. on April 16, 2018 at the Council Chamber
in City Hall, 230 West Hickman Road, Waukee, Iowa 50263. At said hearing, any
interested person may appear and file objections thereto or to the cost of the
improvements.
This project includes the furnishing of all labor, equipment, and materials for the
construction of the Waukee Trailhead and Dog Park, generally described as follows:
An approximately 350 SF built facility including but not limited to modern restrooms,
maintenance storage, overhead canopy, mechanical equipment, water and sanitary
service connections, water fountains, and dog wash stations.
Site work includes approximately 13,300 SF of PCC paving and 17,000 SF of aggregate
walking surface with associated earthwork; seven (7) decorative light poles and
luminaires; paved rest areas incorporating benches, litter receptacles, dog waste
receptacles, and one (1) shade structure; landscaping that includes deciduous overstory
and understory trees, evergreen trees, shrubs, sod, and native seed areas; limited storm
sewer to include 15” CL.III RCP, concrete pipe aprons and footings; 900 LF of water
service and 100 LF of sanitary service; electric distribution system that includes
transformer, meter sprocket, 400 LF of various conduit sizes, 200 LF of #8 circuit, 225
panel, to supply site lighting and restroom facility.
